  1. Great pictures! I've had a real good time looking at each of them. Some are truly outstanding! I wished for 50 entries... We'll get there soon, I'm sure!

I owe a HUGE THANK YOU to all the participants!

  2. Challenge #16 Votes

You guys are making it harder and harder!

First Place (3 points): Roosje, "Untitled". I just loved the subtleness and quality of this image.

Second Place (2 points): Michael Schuster, "Fire & Ice", another of his beautifully conceived and photographed compositions.

Third Place (1 point): Patrick Bramlett, "Packin' Heat"
, a fun shot with a nice diagonal and color combo.

A big round of applause for all the rest of you!

This was one fun contest! I really had a great time coming up with a submission, but I had even more fun trying to decide who I was going to vote for this go-round.

    MCS---1st place---3points---"Fire and Ice"

    Ann.---2nd place---2 points---"Jack'O'Pepper"

    Manzico---3rd place---1 point---"Heart of a Pepper"

HM's go to everyone else, but in particular I'd like to acknowledge Gordon's (greyflash) "Poblano at Night....Stl Don's "Reflections on the Pepper Theme"....and Patrick Bramlett's "Packin' Heat".

    Way to go everyone!
  8. Excellent contest with some great entries. After careful consideration here are my top three:

1st Place (3 points) - MCS, "Fire and Ice"

2nd Place (2 points) - Manjico, "Heart of a Pepper"

    3rd Place (1 point) - Roosje, "Untitled"

There were a number of others that were in the hunt but I had to make a decision so there they are.
  9. 1st place - 3 points - Packin' Heat by Pattrick Bramlett
    2nd place - 2 points - Heart of a Pepper by manzico

3 - 1 point: JPS - "Family Portrait" (Fun interpretation)
  11. My Vote

What a hard choice, there are so many good interpretations of the theme....but I had to decide.

Here's my vote for Challenge #16 - Study of a Pepper

1st place: 3 points go to "Packin' Heat" by Patrick Bramlett
...great idea and colors, this may be the hunting ammunition for vegetarians?

2nd place: 2 points go to "Pepper Surgery" by Vinod Menon
Optically very appealing! But the poor pepper.... did it survive?

3rd place: 1 point goes to "Poblano At Night" by greyflash
...you got me there: when 1st viewed it, I burst out laughing! The eyes are the best! Great study of your personal pepper/Pablano!

  14. There were so many great entries - it was really difficult to decide !!

FIRST (3pts) Roosje - "Here is my entry"
for most delicious use of light and detail to produce an elegant composition.
SECOND (2pts) Nfoto - "Burning Hot Chili Peppers [IR]"
for most unusual light capture and grand, wild colour to produce a fiery composition.

1st StL_Don, Reflections on the Pepper

    2nd MCS - "Fire & Ice"

    3rd Ann - "Jack-o-Pepper"

This was such a wonderful topic. All of the entries made me think and look for different ways to "see" the pepper.

Thanks to NB23 for hosting a great challenge.

    Regards to all!
  17. Interesting entries, I enjoyed them all!
    Here are my votes:

1 - 3 points: "Fire and Ice" by MCS
    2 - 2 points: "Untitled" by Roosje

Very difficult to decide - the entries were all so different, and so good.

1st place: "Christmas Pepper" by Frits
2nd place: "Fire and Ice" by mcs
3rd place: "Pepperama" by Paul aka MontyDog

I would have liked three third places, with Patrick Bramlett's fun "Packing Heat" and manzico's dreamy and sensuous "Heart of a pepper" - but I could only choose one, and I liked Paul's striking study.

    Cheers, Ann
  19. Here goes...

    1) The Rise and Fall of Mr. Pepper by Heiko
A great concept, and very well executed.
    2) Pepper Graveyard by Yokimbo
Nice composition (I'm glad you darkened the background). I'd love to see a b&w conversion too.
    3) Pablano at Night by Greyflash
This one cracked me up the minute I saw it.

HMs to nfoto, NB23, Roosje, and beaucamera
