WHOAA, SLOW DOWN!! – don’t rush…….

That’s better…welcome to the Nikon Café Challenge #7 -
"STRENGTH" - voting thread.

Imagine: You are in a tastefully lit photo display gallery with a slight cool breeze making its way through the rooms. The photo displays are perfectly illuminated and a small crowd is moving from display to display. You notice a whiff of a pleasant fragrance in the air, which must come from the tall brunette in the salmon dress. Nice!
Get yourself a few pieces of cheese and a glass of cool white wine and get ready to enjoy.
Be sure to take the time to read the artist’s comments, pinned on a piece of laminated carton below the frames.

You have been asked to judge the exhibition, together with all the other members of the Café. You prepare to take notes as you go.

You are allowed three votes:
1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point

So, go ahead, enjoy the exhibition. Be sure to take your time and to read the photographer’s comments.
Then post your votes in this thread.
Voting will last for 4 days and will end on Thursday, June 16, 23:59 EDT.

Results will be posted shortly after.

First Place ( 3 points): Joe Lorenzini, "Horse and Rider."
I liked this image because it showed "co-operative" strength and concentration.

Second Place (2 points): Michael McShuster, "A powerful engine"
Beautifully executed example of "raw strength."

Third Place (1 point): Lin, "Stopping the Train."
Very creative. Shows the strength of imagination and the powers of the mind.

Here`s the vote from Bavaria!

Wow, what outstanding submissions! Everyone approached the topic from a different angle.

So here's my personal vote:

1st place: 3 points: Justin (TKO) "BeijingPanning"
The "fragile" Bike in the rain against all the Cars. It kind of touched me, Great panning.

2nd place: 2 points: Lin (Linm) "Stopping the Train"
Great teamwork Idea, very well captured!

3rd place: 1 point: Ken Go (KENGO) "Manmade Strengthen by Nature"
Nature against, and at the same time completing the purpose of something man-made!
I think we used the same Glass (50 f1.8?)

Every capture was a great interpretation of the topic, but the special price for "creative-thinking" goes to: Greg for "Strength of natural Cotton"!

First of all they were all excellent submissions.

1st Smoking by MCS 3pts

2nd Hidden Strength by dmwphoto 2pts

3rd Iwo Jima Memorial by RFCnikon 1pt

These challenges are so awesome. Thanks Frits for a wonderful topic. Everyone should be very proud of their submissions. I only wish I had more points to give out.

Cheers,
