Wow, so many great submissions!
...and all contain a amount of light and shadow! (like I said :wink: :wink

Here is my answer to Frits great introduction from Challenge #7:

Imagine: You are in your little computer-room in front of your old flickering computer-screen with a warm breeze making its way to you from the CPU cooling fan. The computer display is slightly dim and your cat is moving in the room. You notice a whiff of a unpleasant fragrance in the air, which must come from the #%&#-cat. Nice!
Get yourself a few pieces of leftover pizza and a glass of warm old Cola and get ready to do your job and choose your favorites.
(Frits, maybe I didn't manage to get the "atmosphere" right? :wink: :wink: :wink: )

So here are the Rules for Voting:

Everyone is allowed three votes:

1st place: 3 points
2nd place: 2 points
3rd place: 1 point

So now look, read and observe carefully, and take your time before you make up your mind!

In making my selections in Challenge #8, I made a distinction between the use of a silhouette and shadows produced as part of the image.

First Place(3 Points): NB23 for "Strictly Light and Shadow", which beautifully displays how light and shadow can be used to define an image.

Second Place(2 Points): gbenic for "Rock", a wonderful use of composition with light and dark elements.

Third Place(1 Point): Chris101 for "Reclining Nude", a clever and imaginative use of shadow and light.

This is the one for me. What a mood. I often see such scenes in my head and there is is on a picture. Very well executed.

2nd: Joe_Lorenzini Sunset at Lone Star

It has some magic. Something glamorous too. Very nice.

3rd: The Saxophone Player The saxophone player.

This third place was the hardest to give out. So many great entries. However, this picture is striking to me. Maybe too "neat" for some tastes but still: nice mood, great colors and excellent composition.
