Its official, 8-8-08 I am an uncle! My older brother who is still in iraq had his first born son today. We were lucky and had him on the phone and web cam through out. Here are a few pics of "Adain"

all taken with D50 / 50 1.8 and SB600 @ iso 400-1600

Congrats Uncle Chris! Love the last picture. All of the B&W shots are great. Little Adain is beautiful.

Give a huge thanks to your bro for all that his is doing for us in iraq. To bad he could be there but the webcam was a great idea.

congratulations, uncle chris
the last one is my favorite, as well

i hope that daddy can see these.... somehow... in iraq

2 things.....
and i don't mean to offend

1. i'd post-process these differently, a bit.... to make them more pleasing.... ie., color balance, etc
2. don't use flash..... it isn't appropriate for baby's eyes.... this has been discussed before
use..... available light.... better shots.... and..... BETTER FOR A BABY'S EYES

thanks for sharing

Thanks all for you kind words....

Spalding, I was wondering if the flash would be ok so I asked my uncle who is an OBGYN and neonite specialist, he said it is ok, he takes photos with flash all the time in the hospital of newborns. But I was hesitant and almost all the shots of just him was available light. As to PP this is the first time Ive used light room and used just presets, I like them for what they are but agree that they all need a little spice. If you would like to tweak any photos please do, I enjoy others thoughts and suggestions. Thanks again!

Congratulations!!! What a sweet boy, and my thoughts and prayers are with him and his mommy. I'm a military wife......and having a baby alone was one of my worst fears.
