Camera Actuations?????????????????

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR Forum' started by stanjan0, Aug 25, 2008.

  1. On my D300, how do I find out how many actuations are on the camera?
  2. You can get this from an EXIF reader like Opanda IExif.. The catch is that many image processors strip the pertinent field from the EXIF. Shoot a JPEG, and without doing any edits, open in it in IExif. The field you're looking for, "Total Number of Shutter Releases for Camera", is usually the 8th one from the bottom as displayed by IExif.

BTW, I moved your post to D3/D300.

It's even easier than that with 10.5 : just open a photo in Preview and open the Inspector panel ( command + i ) and you'll find tons of info including the number of actuations
