Can you mix alien bees with speedlights?

    Yes, but the Speedlights must be in manual mode or SU-4 remote mode.

  4. I do this all the time myself too, usually using a SB-800 in SU-4 mode as a background light.

    Just keep in mind that the color temp of the Alien Bees and Speedlight are different. The AB lights are usually 5100-5300K depending on output power, and the speedlight is about 5500K.
