Captive & wild birds at Harewood House

Harewood House is the stately home of the Earl of Harewood. One of the attractions for visitors is a Bird Garden in the grounds. It has some rare and beautiful birds in its aviaries, which were good targets for my D200 & 300mm F/4 AF-S.

The Harewood estate is the site of a release programme for red kites and I saw several circling over the grounds. Some other wild birds are attracted closer by handouts.

Very nice set of birds and photos Alan. Particularly like the mountain peacock and the feather detail on the jackdaw. Dark birds can be hard to shoot. You did a nice job with it.
