Just got back from a weeks vacation in the West Highlands of Scotland. Breathtaking scenery but unfortunately very mixed weather with a lot of heavy rain coupled with the odd pocket of glorious sunshine; so i had little opportunity to get out and about for photography; but I gave it a go when I could.

Below is Castle Stalker; one of the many Highland castles you can find positioned in the actual Lochs of the Highlands.
I took this photo on one of the very bleak and cloudy but dry days, just before sunset.

C&C welcome.

love the feeling if the image, with the weather
the bright reflections off the water in front of the misty mountains,
and the darkness of the castle, almost coming out of the water, is manacing
excellent!

I really like this image!

I think the composition could be stronger by cropping out about a 1/3 of the sky. And just a little more detail in the castle.

But overall, well captured and processed.

Well done...!

Is this the same castle seen in "Monty Python and the Holy Grail"...?

Thank you.
It is in the Holy Grail, great spot! I'll be honest and say that I had no idea until you mentioned it, but wiki confirmed it was.

You're very kind Rob thank you.

Thanks Butterkid, I'll give your advice a go.

Every time I see such a fine picture I regret I've (still!) never been there! Great picture!

Thank you Rob, Scotland is a wonderful place for many visitors for many reasons, but especially so for photographers. I hope you get to visit soon.
