I am training for a PPL on this beauty at North Perry airport (KWHO) in Hollywood, Florida. It belongs to my instructor and is almost as old as me.

She flies very nicely.

Ah.... one of the old "good ones" that have the 40' flap settings so you can float in a strong headwind over the runway! Seriously, I love the old Cessna 150 and 172 with the 40 degree setting, you can dump them and drop steeply head down so nice as needed. Heaven forbid you have to go around with them though. You have to milk them up slowly.

Alex, when I got my PPL in 1972, I did most of my instruction in the C-150 and took my check ride (successfully) in a PA28 Cherokee because that was what the club had available at the time.

Enjoy, it is a wonderful experience that not everyone is lucky enough to have.
