    Burning Hot Chili Peppers [IR]

Seems I have the pleasure of opening the show

    Burning Hot Chili Peppers [IR]

    11840.

Dump of EXIF data from my data base is as follows,

    Råfil: DSC_7577.NEF; kamera: NIKON D1 ; opptaksdato: 2005:12:02 20:47:08; lukkertid: 1/320 s; brennvidde: 100 mm; blender: f/1.6; program: M; lysmåling: CentreW; ISO: 200

Taken with my IR-modified D1 and a Rodenstock XR-Heligon 100 mm f/1.6 lens. The peppers are not only infrared, they are literally burning :Exclamati

  3. "Inner glow"

D2X and 55 2.8 AIS macro. 1/2.5, ISO 100, f11. Lit with two Luxeon based flashlights, one inside the back of the pepper.

  4. peepee pepper

Whoaaaa! The first 2 entries are truly remarkable! So here is mine, trying to subdue the burnin'hot entries above

Shot at 1/40@f1.4 with my new 35 1.4 Nikkor - 1.3 stop (The exif says 58mm@1.2 because I entered the Noct's info into the D2Hs menu). the setup was pretty basic. The fun part was to study the pepper in my kitchen, under the available light.
Setup: First, I cut the pepper and ate the piece while waiting for an idea to come. I then put the pepper to stand and voila, I saw it all  I used a Black cardboard directly on the sink and I had my wife squeeze the dish soap. I then cropped the unnecessary parts and applied some burning in some existent shadows for a more dramatic effect.

[EDIT: I just learned from Michael S. (mcs) how to link to a non-artifacted pbase image via resizing/sharpening/linkingToOriginal
instead of linking to pbase's resized version as above. So here that is. There were no changes made to the original photo aside from the resize/USM. I have "disqualified" myself probably, but that's OK. I am happy to have finally learned howto do this, so I'll be all set for next time !!!!!! Learning is the important thing !!!]

The Rise and Fall of Mr. Pepper

It's not exactly pepper season now, but I found some usable specimen in the garden.

The life cycle of a pepper: Here comes the Rise and Fall of Mr. Pepper

    original.

Shot manually with SB800 reflected from white ceiling. Lens: 50mm f1.4 AI-S. More info see EXIF. Forget the metering info - it was all manual.

Oops - forgot to mention: f5.6
