For what it is worth (actually CI is usually very well informed), the French photo magazine in its issue #272 p.139 (in the Canon EOS 350D review :!: ) states:

(snip) "the D70, cleverly straddling over two different market segments, is going on in its own sweet way. It will be replaced only this fall with a 10 MPix" (snip)

    That's all folks ! :(

And yes, the article is about a D70 replacement :?:

[I've translated the sentence from the article myself  . The original version is: (snip) "le D70, astucieusement placé à cheval sur deux segments, continue son bonhomme de chemin. Il ne sera remplacé qu'à l'automne par un 10 Mpix" (snip) ]

Yes, very interesting. Looks like there is not much hope for a D100 'replacement' if a D70s+ (or whatever) is 10 MP.

Thanks for the news Thierry. If it has MLU and ISO100 I will have it. :D
  5. sounds cool......hoped for a 12mpix though. Of course if the 10mpix is the d70 replacement maybe that 12mpix could be the d100 replacement......

Looks like Nikon is taking the low road, keeping the cost down and selling more units, MLU probably would have to go. Maybe ISO 100 if it is CMOS, if CCD probably not.
  7. Ask Backdoctor he knows but he won't tell darn it! :p
