Steve and Art, thanks for your nice comments. Indeed, it is a really close shot. The lens is "just" 180mm but this is a 6 Mpixel sensor so what you see is almost the full frame, at almost 100%.. Of course the cat didn't like me being so close to it - and it made it very clear as you can see.

Yes, this is the reason I recommend this lens to everybody who wishes to hear. I am glad you got it too, and I am sure you will love it. BTW, you need to add a "Tamron" in your signature (before the 180mm f3.5)..

Jeri Ann & Dianne, many thanks.. The cheetah was found in a zoo, in which they have ample space to move. However, since it was a rather hot summer day, the animals decided to rest under some trees during noon time. One of those trees was rather close to the visitors (about 5 meters) which allowed this shot.
