Just looking at your pano above, I wished it could be bigger. Then I looked at the original - wow!! Verrry nice!!!

You took those shots from the planetarium?? What lens did you use?

I was in Chicago two months ago - never got to the planetarium to shoot the skyline - I'm thinking a return trip may be in order.

    Thanks for posting!

  3. I really like that, and well done for keeping the horizon level lol. My friend lives in Chicago and keeps inviting me out, I really must go over there!

  4. Hi Ken,
Very nice, thanks for sharing. I notice you have several panos in you site. Do you carry your tripod along for these shots or are these handheld?

  5. Excellent pano Ken. I need to shoot some at the planetarium when I'm in Chicago next, great vantage point.

Thanks Lyndee. Yes, they were taken from next to the planetarium, near the sea wall. I used the 17-55 Nikkor.

Thanks Richard. There are plenty of great places to shoot here. Even though I live here, I don't take as many pictures of the city as I'd like. The camera's going with me a lot more lately - just so there's no excuses.

Thanks Joe. All the panos I have were handheld, and PTGui was used to do the stitching. Even this 19 shot pano of the Wrigley Building, which surprised me that it turned out OK.

Thanks Fritz. It's definitely one of the best views of the city skyline.

Frank, yes, I did use auto WB - it seems to do a good job.

Alias, that is a clever technique. How is it done?
