    Don't know what to say but wow! The detail in the feathers is a joy to look at. Don't often see it this close.

  7. LOL, you must live one tree over to get shots like these! Nice job.:biggrin: They're all over down here, but always fun to watch. Would gladly empty a card (well, almost) shooting these guys at this range.

    Sincere thanks to all who've stopped to look and comment. This pair of redbellied woodpeckers is nesting in a tree that's not forty feet from our back door, so I've had extraordinary access to get close photos of them. They've started to bring food to the nest in the past couple of days, so I'm hopeful that I might get pix of woodpecker munchkins (wood-chips?) soon.
