Collared Lizard from Arkansas

I decided to beat the effects of the tropical storm a few days ago and headed to Arkansas in search of collared lizards. The weather forecast according to my computer show partially cloudy and upper 80s. It ended up being 99 degrees on the rocky dome I visited and the sun was relentless between the clouds. I could only hunt for a few hours and saw only 1 female. At least she got used to me and posed a bit.

Thanks, Allan. I wish I had found a male. They are spectacular! I have one on my Zenfolio page that I found a few years ago. Only females the last 2 trips, though.
