:):)Welcome All to the Collective Shoot!!!:):)
Where all Café Members are Welcome to Join in the Fun!

There’s a new theme served up every Thursday starting at 12:00AM (your time zone) running thru Midnight of the following Wednesday (your time zone).
We Welcome all to participate and We Welcome any volunteers to host.
Ya wanna host one of these events? Then please send Art, aka (ArtO) a message, to set up a week to host the theme of your choice.
It’s Painless & Fun!
The Collective Shoot (CS) is a non-competitive, participant driven forum first suggested by Linda (Raian) in June 2006, continuing presently. HAPPY 10th ANNIVERSARY!!
Each Thursday, a different volunteer from the Café hosts us by setting a new theme, and during the following week, members shoot pictures representative of that theme. Collective Shoots are strictly for the enjoyment of those who participate in this group activity while encouraging us all to try shooting new types of images.

:) Rules & Other Useful Stuff to Know: :)
• CS host volunteers choose the theme and post that theme on Thursday, the week of their CS hosting .
Note to hosts: Let us know your chosen theme ahead of time we'll post it on the calendar, and participants can then plan ahead for their shooting.
• Participants will shoot pictures representing the theme (“Whatever the host has chosen”) for that week.
• Posted images must be shot from 12:01am Thursday thru midnight the following Wednesday.
• All members of the Nikon Café are welcome to participate.
• Be courteous & respectful of others when commenting on images.
• The CS is non-competitive and there are no "places" or "prizes." No fees, no special registration or statements from participants.
• Themes and posted images must be rated "E" for everyone -- no obscenity, pornography, violent content, etc.
• Participants must post their own images and respect the intellectual property of others.
• Post as often as you like. But please limit each post to three images.
• Please limit each image to a maximum of 1200 pixels per height/width.
And last but not least, HAVE FUN!!

WE NEED HOSTS! So please send Art, aka (ArtO) a message and set up a week to host the theme of your choice. We'd love to have you! It's fun, and by volunteering, you help keep the Collective Shoot going. Take a look at our calendar and pick out the week you want to host!

Thank you kindly and we hope to see you and your images at the Collective Shoot!

I like to support Art.
Believe me the CS is fun! And it's not much work. You'll choose a theme and wait how others will interpret it. :D:eek::ROFLMAO:(y)(n)

Please, dare it... ;)

Thanks Klaus. It is a lot of fun. For example this week the theme is "I Spy" and folks can build chains of related photos by adding on the the end of a previous post or start a chain of their own. Come and give it a try. Or pick a fun theme of your own and sign up to host a week.

I'd love to participate in this forum (as I used to) and even host, but the rules are stacked against me because I shoot only slide film and can't get it processed in the time allowed to post it.
I shoot continuously (as is the intent of this Forum's rules) but never get anything back from the processors in less than two weeks. But Rules are Rules as I've discovered on this site, so I've been excluded, rather than by exception, included.
To keep my hand in, I post in two of the Lens Lust Fora (Nikon Manual Focus Glass, and Non-Nikon Manual Focus Glass) where my work is deemed good enough to elicit comments, so I guess that will just have to be enough for me.

I appreciate your position Robert and being a film shooter myself have been sympathetic with this. I'm attempting to formulate some sort of compromise rule that will accommodate film shooters but not make the CS process an administrative nightmare. I'll be back in touch.

We need a lot of volunteer hosts for the Collective Shoot. As you can imagine, the more folks we have contributing the wider the range of ideas for themes and postings of images and comments. It helps to keep it a truly fun part of the Cafe. So please consider stopping by and posting a bit and maybe even choosing a theme and hosting a week. I'm sure you'll enjoy it.

Art,
We last spoke about this over a month ago.
We're not drafting Federal Legislation. Just a quick change to a rule to allow a film-shooting member to participate. Congress need not be involved.

Sorry Robert. I thought I had answered about this but obviously I did not. It was decided that the rules were to remain unchanged. The folks who have decided this have very good reasons and while I may feel differently, must go with ruling of those far more experienced than myself. Again, so very sorry for not posting an answer here. I have to look now and see where I posted it.

Hello there Nikon Cafe photographers. Just want to remind you about the Collective Shoot and mention that we sure do need some additional contributors and posters. The CS has been going non-stop for over 10 years now and there's a wonderful selection of themes and photographs to be found in the CS Sub-forum. Come and take a look. Maybe something will inspire you to join in. It's lots of fun.
