I have lived in breckenridge colorado for many years but was never into photography. I will be returning there soon to live and have all kinds of things I want to shoot. A lot of it will be in the winter when it gets very cold.
How does a D700 hold up in below freezing weather? I would love to take it out snowboarding but feel unsure about extended periods of time in the winter conditions

The only problem you will have will be the diminishing life of your batteries. The cold weather wrecks havoc on your batteries. Don't get scared because once you warm them up again, they do just fine. But that will be the only problem you notice. I have used my camera from sea level - 14,200ft and from 100ºF - (-10º)F and from dry to rain. The only issues i have had, have been the decreased battery life.

Yea most batteries don't do well in the cold. As long as there's no long term damage to anything then I look forward to shooting in the winter
