    Awesome shots!
As they say..."the eyes have it!"

I love #3, just great timing, great shot...well, they are all great. I like #3 because of the ball in flight.

Love the last cheerleader shot too!

    Great stuff.

I'm impressed every time you post.

Here's a question that i think may help a few people out mike......

how far back from the play are you staying ? .... are you staying close to get the nice tight crop in camera or do you prefer to haing back a little bit and let the action come to you ?

    Ok now I'm completely depressed

because I don't know how you do it. Every time we think we've seen the best, the next ones are even better. I'd like to know how you got that shot with no reflection from the helmet shield. What that planned or just luck?

  8. great questions James & Topher, on my mind too. I liked #5...

  11. That No. 6 shot is sweet! shot from the end zone?

  12. Thanks so much Mark
Thanks for looking I appreciate it
    Thanks Chris
I wish I could claim talent but that one just came out real clear for soem reason, I was lucky this was a paid request athlete so when I saw this I let out a collective sigh
I stay about 15-10 yards away from the line of scrimmage changing mostly on down and distance, since we are contracted to shoot all team members I alternate between sidelines also. I try to shoot full frame as much as I can of course if the action is going the other way I shoot what is available, to be able to produce large poster we try to keep crops to a minimum
    Thanks so much Jeff
    Thanks pal
    Thanks
Yea first decent light of the football season, to be honest I am praying for rain!

  13. He was actually running parallel to the line right at me

  14. Mike,
    Great shots as always!
Mike for your sport photos do you shoot in jpeg or raw and convert?
    What's your favorite focus settings?
I just picked up a D700 last week and struggling to get confident with the focus.
Your sport photos are very inspiring!
    Thanks for posting them!

    man. sweet as.

  16. WOW shots:wink:

  17. I shoot jpg fine, with the volume of shots I shoot RAW conversions would be too time consuming
I use 21pt AF with the focus set to dynamic area focus, and AF set to normal. I use the AF-ON button for focus. I hope this helps
    Thanks...lol
    Thanks so much...GO BIRDS!

JPEG fine? Good grief, you could at least have the decency to lie and tell us these were RAW!:biggrin::biggrin:

Mike, as ever, super shots. Thanks for posting them. I (as we all do) appreciate you taking the time to share the information on settings and technique too.
