A recent ride to The Dalles, OR yielded a couple of nice photos shot from the Washington side. High on the bluff overlooking the Columbia River I couldn't help notice the stark difference in vegetation between this stretch of the river and that 20 miles West near Portland. This is high desert country and beautiful in it's own right.

  2. it IS beautiful, Bob
nice of you to share this one with us

  3. Nice, but I think it could be improved by straightening (about 3.5 degrees counterclockwise) and if the left foreground dark area were lightened to bring out some detail.

    Cheers,

  4. Nice photo, Bob. Will be taking a trip up the gorge this fall hoping to catch some colors.
Is the Columbia running East to West at the location you shot this? Would make a very interesting photo shot early in the am I think. Do agree with Larry that it needs the horizon leveled some.
