Common Tern Adult ~ Chicks~ New Material 7-27-07

    Now that the chicks have become fledglings, they are leaving the comfort of the dunes and flying about.

    They land on the beach....(taken through heat shimmer)

    They even bathe on their own....

    Very nice photo's, how much cropping was required to get the birds in flight so they are so prominent in the image? What iso settings do you use for this type of shot?

    The Flight Shots

    Were cropped probably 50% I'd say.

    IOSO ranged anywhere from 200 to 400 in this group if memory serves me correctly.

    I think the flight shots were all at either 320 or 400.

    Jim, I could tell you how much I look forward to your chick posts, but you'd never believe me. All of these shots are just stunning. I particularly love the 5th and 6th shots.
     
  10. All top notch Jim. For some reason (probably the juxtaposition and framing of the rock and the belly) #2 is my favorite. I'm weird, huh?
