Computer no longer recognizes my D300

For a long time whenever I plugged in the D300 cord to the body and the computer everything shook hands and worked. Now the computer sits idle. I tried on a second computer never previously used with this camera and sure enough everything worked as it should. Pictures were uploaded flawlessly.

So the problem is the first computer but is there a recovery worth trying?

Have you ruled out a bad USB port on you machine? I am assuming so, but it is good to isolate all variables, and that is an easy one to rule out.

Yes I tried four USB ports but that made no difference. When I changed positions with the mouse all ports worked. Thanks for the suggestion.

Does the camera show up as a drive under Storage/Disk Management if you pull up the Computer Management window?

No. I must have deleted something from the computer late one night not realizing I had done it. Since the other computer works fine I will simply switch to that computer when needed.
