Incredible images Dan. All great, 4 is outstanding! Well done. (y)
Thanks, Rick. It's amazing how fast these encounters take place. Even shooting 12fps you only get a couple of frames before the birds separate. Watched in real time you see a bit of confused wing flapping with no clue as to the quick close quarters duel that takes place.
Wonderful series, Dan!

I assume they are fighting for food I seem to see in the first photo. If so, it's the ultimate food fight.
Yes fighting over salmon. There are hundreds of birds gathered on the river for the last salmon run of the season. Most of the birds will migrate south after this. There are plenty of fish and no reason to fight over them. But this is a rare time when the eagles gather in numbers like this and I suppose there is a lot of social hierarchy to be sorted out. Plus eagles would much rather steal than catch their own prey.

Wonderful captures Dan. I especially like the expression in 2 but the entire sequence is great.
Thanks, Allan. Didn't manage to capture any inverted this year. This is the one thing that I shoot where I can see 20 fps would be useful.
Most impressive action shots Dan.
Thanks, Louie. The still look a lot more exciting than it does in person.
Great images Dan. Love the action.
Thanks, Bob. Glad you enjoyed them.
