Last week we had an Antonov An-124 show up on the ramp for a few hours. Why was she there? A brand new Agusta AB-139 was loaded and off they went. I felt a little bad for the crew, they were bummed they didn't get to RON and enjoy a little of Florida ... Truly an incredible airplane. The entire floor is made of Titanium. The helo went in through the front, and the rotors were loaded through the rear door via a movable crane. When it was time for departure, she blasted off using roughly half of the 10,000' runway. (Of course, all she had was one medium sized helo and a 48,000 GALLON drink of Jet A. Wow.
Awesome. I saw one parked in KMIA a few years ago while waiting for cargo. How did you get that kind of access to it? Well done!
