Granddaughter, who was studying at Oxford in Great Britain, was repatriated early last week. She is quarantined in Texas, and tested positive later in the week. I wonder about the screening that was supposed to occur at the originating airport, but am glad she made it back to the U.S. She is young and healthy, and her case is said to be a "milder" one, whatever that means. But a grandpa can't help but worry.

I certainly hope your granddaughter has a light case.

Our grandson, who is a member of this forum, was studying in Cambridge and was repatriated a week ago today. He's been "quarantined" in their family's basement guest quarters. So far he has shown no symptoms, to our knowledge.

Our daughter had a fairly serious respiratory illness last week with most of the symptoms typical of COVID-19, including loss of smell. She had returned from a visit to Williamsburg, VA which is a center of infection in the state. She says she is fine now, but her sense of smell has still not returned.

If she did indeed contract it in Williamsburg on the first day of her visit there then the incubation period was only four days for her. That sounds a bit short, but who knows?

A loss of sense of smell/taste is common with colds and other upper respiratory illnesses, but also for Covid -19 apparently: https://www.nytimes.com/2020/03/22/...html?action=click&module=News&pgtype=Homepage.
