Couple of photos I took of the oil slick from the USS Arizona Memorial in Pearl Harbor. The ship leaks 2 to 9 quarts of oil daily.

Very appropriate and very cool abstract shots. I was a Chief in the Navy and on this day in 2012 the monument was closed but they took me and a few other active duty guys out to the floating monument and I remember just sitting there watching the oil bubble up and contemplating the sheer hell those poor sailors must have endured.

At 4 quarts a day, that comes out to 28,470 gallons of oil over the 78 years.
I wonder how much fuel oil is left in the hull?
