Coyote Hills (Fremont, CA)

    Took yesterday off and went out for a hike looking for some northern harriers. Saw them, but wasn't close enough to make anything out of it. Managed to captured these instead.

    Neither an bird or an animal. There was a stand of plants there, which was surrounded by this orange mass of fibers. Not sure exactly what it is or what it's for...

  2. Great shots, Eric! And nice job on the black bird (Moorehen?). Also, what kind of bird is the 3rd from the last shot?

    Thanks, Kevin. Yup, I think that's a moorhen as well. As for that bird, third from the last, I think that's a juvenile American coot.
