CP and exposure settings?

Discussion in 'Nikon DX DSLR Forum' started by flygirl1, Jun 8, 2007.

  1. Hi all. I have bought a Tokina 12-24 f4 for my trip to Alaska. And, in reading the forum one member said that Hogan's ebook recommends using center-weighted metering when using a CP, not matrix. What are other peoples experiences with that? I have more knowledge with long lenses than the wides would appreciate any words of wisdom. I have already been warned about the CP at the really wide angles due to an uneven effect of the CP.

    Thanks all
  2. Huh? I have not heard that one before. Perhaps the darkening effect that polarizer has on the sky effects exposure, therefore the reason to use center weight. CP can have uneven effects that is for sure. The main issue with the really wide lenses is vignetting.
