Critique my Moon please

It looks great to me, but I'm no moon-shot expert! :smile:
Morning, cuz! THANKS A BUNCH! I had fun with it last night - got all my issues from the night before resolved. I'm happy with the shot - dunno what I could have done better.

Shutter speed is a bit too slow, the moon is moving, move the shutter speed to 1/750th or a bit fast. Aperture to around f/8. Adjust from there.

Thanks Frank, I'll try that next time we see the full moon. We've got clouds now and dunno if the moon will be visable tonight or not.
You got a nice reflection on the left side of the moon; which really brings out the roundness. (mine looks flat!)

Thanks and yeah it was! I was showing it to the kids - they were "wowed" and Mark just said - "it's the moon" and walked out the door for work.
You did well Dianne, but I noticed looking at your shot that the angle of the moon is very different from the Northern Hemisphere compared to the Southern Hemisphere...
Your Shot Dianne (#1) from the Northern Hemisphere shows that crater at the 4 O'Clock position and the shot I took (#2) it's at the 2 O'Clock position...
Never thought about the different angle and I didn't think that there would have been so much difference between the hemisphere's... Go figure...

That is interesting! Didn't know the difference in where we live would make that much of a difference. Like your shot, too BTW:biggrin:
You did well Dianne. Personally I like just a tad more contrast but that would be a simple step in post processing.
It seems to be a little shakey...its not tack-sharp...otherwise nice composition...
Thanks y'all! I had forgotten about this thread! I had my camera on the tripod, so don't know why the camera shake issue.
1/250th is more than fast enough.... Use mirror lockup if you have it and always use a tripod and remote shutter release if poss.

Thanks! I have a lock up but have never used it - that's something I'll have to learn how to do.
