Hey everyone... We've all had to crop, or crop and rotate to get the image just right. I'm sure that there is a general rule for picture size ratios? How should I crop and make it correctly proportional? I cropped an image last night, but just how I liked it, and now it's like 1000 pixels wide x 3500 tall... not a standard size. What are the guidelines for this stuff?
Either crop to a standard size/ratio or accept that your crop isn't one and be prepared for any printing/framing to be custom. There's nothing intrinsically wrong with that. There certainly isn't one standard, or even 2. There are all sorts of standard print sizes and only a few share the same ratio.
Great thanks... I looked into a bit more and found this as well... http://www.dpchallenge.com/tutorial.php?TUTORIAL_ID=35
Personal work, I crop how I like. For any paid work, I crop at 3:2 but leave enough space to do a 5:4 crop.
