I have agreed to host our next (27th) collective shoot. The theme that I have selected is
Spring Fling

I want everyone to go out and shoot anything that signals to them the coming of spring. This could be many differnt things, young lovers in the park, emerging fern fronds, flowers, what ever!
If you live in the southern hemisphere you may share the opposite and please join in.
Please limit images to a maximum of 3 images.
The images should be taken between 5PM Friday afternoon and 8 PM Sunday evening. Times are your local time. I will put up a thread in miscellany tomorrow for you to start posting. Please feel free to add images taken in the shooting times and they can be posted through next Wednesday.

Well, I guess the ice is beginning to break up in the mouth of the harbor.

LOL, Frits. I promise, in a few days you'll be experiencing warmer weather. With luck, the snow will be gone from your course when you get back home.

Spring is in the air!

Our tulip bed is still mostly buds except for this lone, brave, red and yellow bloom.

Needed all that speed today too, since it is *very* windy!

That is a good one Eric. Seems they just started to sprout buds a few days ago and now they are blooming like crazy here too. Nice image!

Another sure sign of spring: my shrinking wood pile.

And yes, we did get 4" of new snow last night, and it is snowing now. The local paper had an article on the ice in the harbor (it's not normal, especially this late in the winter; we have a warm ocean current, the Japanese current which generally keeps the ocean ice free around Homer). A fishing tournament for king salmon scheduled for this weekend was postponed because the water at the boat ramp is still frozen.

Get out some more slides Steve:>))

Super pics

Yea, I do need to purge the slide files some more! I got tired of doing it after a few days, so I've put it off for awhile. Generally, at our home in Homer, we have snow on the ground until early May. At our home in the Alaska range, we normally have snow until early June. Spring for us means lots of daylight and generally warmer temperatures in the day making it fun to play in the snow! Marybee's out skijouring with our dog, Lucy as I write this.
