So it's my turn to host...what to do, what to do?

Then today, as I'm snowshoeing alone in the 2+ feet of snow, I realized the solitude of it all...Bingo!

All the normal rules apply, so let's have fun...
• Participants will shoot pictures representing the theme Solitude.
• Posted images must be shot from 12:01am Thursday thru midnight the following Wednesday.
• All members of the Nikon Café are Welcome to participate.
• Be courteous & respectful of others when commenting on images.
• The CS is non-competitive and there are no "places" or "prizes." No fees, no special registration or statements from participants.
• Themes and posted images must be rated "E" for everyone -- no obscenity, pornography, violent content, etc.
• Participants must post their own images and respect the intellectual property of others.
• Post as often as you like. But please limit each post to three images.
• Please limit each image to a maximum of 800 pixels per height/width.
• Have Fun!!

Some examples from the recent past:

Now for me to come up with some new images for this...

Oh my, Lori... I like those examples:cool: -- even though I have not had my snowshoes out for a couple of years, I can feel the peace.

[Hope you don't mind the comment, but on the second shot I think it would benefit from a little selective sharpening of the ice crystals on the leaf. Just a minor adjustment on an image I really like.]

I've been a baaaad boy. Begging the CS groups forgiveness, the above image does not meet the CS rules - I shot this earlier this month, not during this CS period. Consider it withdrawn! CS rules are now indelibly printed upon my brain, I shall not stumble in the future! :)

Eeek, I need to withdraw my entry; I'm new here, sorry, I should have read the CS rules before but immediately after posting earlier this morning was thinking about the challenge title ("collective SHOOT") and realized I probably busted a rule... I shot the waterfront figure earlier this month, not during this CS period.

This was bugging my all the while walking our dog in the rain, so I checked and sure enough... busted!

A thousand pardons please... will submit something else.

It's okay...sometimes, especally at the start of a CS, posts will be from the archives. Case in point, my photo ^^^^ was shot four years ago. I am going to make a point, however, to provide something taken during the CS time frame!! Soooooo...keep what you've got; it's a lovely image!

Very nice theme Lori. I really like your examples a lot. It probably sounds foolish to many but I wish was out there snowshoeing with you.

Lyndee - great interpretation of the theme and a wonderful image too.

mwatkins - the rules are often bent a bit. Your photograph is terrific and matches the theme beautifully.

No worries, I should have posted the rules, rather than assuming everyone knows them (so my bad). It's a good entry, just make note that it was taken from your 'archives'.

Here's one from the archives until I get some "personal" time to shoot.
