This was taken during one of my most memorable winters. The middle of the woods, 2 feet of snow, and bitter cold. I saw 5 deer this day and didnt shoot. I didnt want to ruin the peace. I enjoyed nature for its beauty and was content in being the only witness to perfection.

Having grown up on the beach, I miss the ocean...nice shot.

Your beach shot looks much "warmer" than mine on the Atlantic side

Looks like a lot of fun to cross country ski down!

A nicely composed image, Jim:cool: -- makes me think of the song "Lonesome Road"

Bob, I had not looked through the full thread when I posted so I didn't realize I was copying your theme.

Nice shot...definitely the definition of solitude...no one has been there before. Since it's been about a week since our last snow, we don't see much of that right now.

Beautiful Jim! Would love to walk there for a while.

Thanks, all. This is the first picture I have taken with the new D600 that I thought is definitely better than I could have gotten with the D7000. On my 27" monitor the level of detail is quite impressive.

We have had above freezing temperatures for about 36 hours now, so it doesn't look like that anymore. :frown:
