Thanks to Photomelodist for the invitation to host.

Often in life, to grow as a photographer (or as a person) we have to step outside our comfort zone. This can mean doing something we are unfamiliar with, facing a fear, trying something new, or just having to cope with uncomfortable situations in general.
I want to see pictures pertaining to this theme. This can either mean you yourself are stepping out of your comfort zone to try a style of photography that you are not particularly strong at, or could be photos highlighting situations or objects that might not normally make you feel too good.

Just a couple to get it going.

Heights. To find this view of the city skyline I had to make a very nerve racking climb.

Street photography (I'd love to do it, but most of the time I feel uncomfortable pointing the camera at people.):

Hello Rob,

Thank you for hosting a quite challenging shoot that will require some self-examination.

Nice shots West and good story. He didn't seem like a happy camper.

An old racing buddy once told me, “If you don’t occasionally capsize, you’re not pushing your boat to its limits.”

Good capture, West.

West,

Good one! Time for him to get some proper lesson.

I was hopping to get you guys mad at me for abandoning this guy in contravention to the Maritime Act.

But in reality the subject was positioned so as to give an illusion of being far out at sea, whereas in reality he was actually getting lessens, about 30 feet from the beach with the instructor right next to him

Been waiting a couple of years for a hip replacement.
Saw a different Dr. today and he might replace my left hip next month.
Definately outside my comfort zone

A 2 year old using my gripped d7000 with my Nikon 50 1.4 is definitely outside of my comfort zone.
