Thought I'd throw in another one of my own ..... flag pretty much straight up, with a bit of help from the wind and the wide-angle lens.

Thanks Harry
I took some pictures of the piece, "North Watch" by Ivan Eyre at the unveiling in May 2012 You can see the whole thing and get a sense of scale here:

Please ! No one tell my wife.
She had a wee bit of surgery on her " bilateral Great Toes " today. Only a real photo hound would have his wife wait while he grabbed a few pics in a cemetery :). She sent this to the grans in a message.

Definitely Looking Down.

What a clever, clever idea, Tom. And you are right, you can't get any more "down" than that!

Oh she is the artsy one, I missed her and she was doing this in her craft room. She always makes lemonade when there are lemons about.

Bobby Brown was shot with a 60 MM, changed to a 12/24 right after that, I had to go look it up.

No tall buildings to shoot like Larry, so I went to my often visited Rose Hill.

Nicely shot Tom and you got some blue in the sky. We're still waiting up here.

Well, here goes: I'm sitting down looking up a number in the phone book (kids, this one is NOT a smart phone app!!) One flash is up, over the book, and another is lower down shining up at my face.

I'm usually looking down to find flowers and insects - that or trying not to trip over something. No bugs around this time of year, unfortunately but a lot of tripping on icy sidewalks.
I was downtown again today and did a bit of looking up.

1. Not a lot of tall buildings in Winnipeg.

Nice going Larry. Hope you didn't fall while looking up. That statue is really neat. Looks like some sort of space person. Great patina.

This lights my way when it is dark.
That's a great looking light fixture Ed. Love the finish. Is it really old or just finished that way?

Lt Bobby Brown, that is what we call him and he is well remembered. He is Buried beside his master, in historic Rose Hill Cemetery.

Well, she has at least a clever photographer to record her lemonade!

Thanks for the info on the lenses, Tom. Since for many of us this is an unusual mode of shooting, it is helpful to be able to link the lenses with the shot, showing the effect achieved.

Both shots came out great Tom. The sky really adds to the last one.

More from yesterday but looking down.

Larry

1. An open but covered area at "The Forks", where the Assiniboine and Red Rivers meet, is used for many activities. In winter it's a free skating rink.
I'm always amazed at how proficient little kids are.

Love the slap shot, the red really pops.. These are a really nice, cold/fun looking set Larry. I have always been impressed with your managing the WB in your constant white winter, even with older cameras.
