(unfortunately 200mm from 15 miles away doesn't make for a great shot, but it is what it is...)

Oh my you lucky dog, I could have been there, I have causeway access for the 6 mile shot, shot Discovery once. I did watch the launch.

I like it, but, please Brian, only shots taken during the current CS period.

This shot is of the SpaceX Falcon 9 launch from yesterday.

Oh this wasn't todays lift off? Oh they did stick the return of stage one on the barge.

It was. I'm pretty sure we wouldn't have been able to see the landing, but we were long gone by then anyways because of traffic.

Sorry about that:oops::oops: -- the EXIF indicates the original was taken on 1/23/14 -- Ill bet you never set the date in your camera;).

Ah...well, I'm going to have to blame Nikon for that. After looking at my catalog, everything I've shot before I sent my D750 in for recall service last month is dated correctly, and everything since I received it back is screwed up. Thanks for the heads up!

Thanks, Delbert. Until this post I didn't know lifeguards ever had patrol vehicles. And an impressive looking one at that. Is this common in California, or just in the San Diego area?

I believe it is standard for California beach cities to have them. :)
That's neat Delbert. I learn something new every time I'm in one of these shoots.

Thought today I'd "finish off" another macro print from my childhood ..... this time a gas-engined plane I built when about 12-13 years of age (1952). I used DxO Filmpack 4 to simulate a darkroom print of that era.

MAN, THIS PASTURE IS ROUGH!

You are fortunate Harry, to have a gas-engine plane in your childhood, but this is all we can afford growing up, an "arm powered" paper plane ;););)
