Ed, thank you. I was to have hosted CS#511, but had to leave town yesterday to attend the funeral of a long time friend. I notified Art earlier this week that I would be unable to host, but I'm thinking he probably forgot. Thanks for stepping up to the plate; I appreciate it.

Thanks Ed. Great theme. This should be fun. I'll try to get some shooting done and post over the weekend. Sorry for being away so much. Your stepping in is a real savior.

Thanks for stepping in Ed! Great example shots. The middle one is my favorite - great composition, focus, and colors.

In 2015, my older son gave a potted plant arrangement to my wife for Mother’s day. This flowering vine (a Mandevilla?) never bloomed until 2016, but now it’s going crazy producing red flowers like the one in this snapshot.

Not so evident in this shot, but posted it as the pilot was kind enough to go around while I positioned
myself at the end of the runway (well possibly it was a different plane).

A few from a short walk this afternoon. The only natural red thing I saw was a meadowhawk but I took only a 50mm with me so no hope of getting it.

2. In this era of "replace it when it's broken" it's nice to see something 67 years old still performing as new. The oldest hydrants in Winnipeg turned 110 this year.

My neighbors sometimes refer to me as "the guy who continues to use things well after they've worn out". So, I say "Hurrah Winnipeg."
That's a crazy mailbox.
