Well, this is embarrassing.
It is my turn to host the shoot and guess what, no camera.
Hopefully it will arrive Friday from Canon.
The object is to take and post pictures of the beauties of nature at this time of year.
So let me start off this weeks shoot with a somewhat recent picture of leaves:

The usual forum rules apply and the shoot runs from now until 11:59 pm on April 5th.
Please post only three shots per post and make sure all content is family oriented.
All pictures should be taken within the time period of this shoot.

Oh! No camera Ed? What a mess...
But it's a theme that can show up surprising results.

Thank you for hosting

Not many beauties around here yet. We just got rid of the snow; it's the messiest time of year:(.
Still, there may be the odd thing to find.....

We have to wait for a few weeks for the leaves to appear, so all the trees are nude. But at least the snow's gone.

Well I have good news and bad news:

Good News: my camera just arrived and am charging the battery.
Bad News: You have to watch the iPhone pics from this morning before my camera arrived.:p

  • See back to nature could mean natural materials, like wool:

  • With SL1 camera. Too windy outside for flower shots, tried and failed!

Here's some raw nature. The ice from farther upstream broke loose late this afternoon and I was fortunate to catch it going by my place. The big flow lasted only about an hour.

Impressive scenery. Really like the perspective of shot #3, but they are all nice.

My front yard is a national forest, they control burn a third of it each year. Dogwoods have bloomed after the burns, and I was looking for a vantage point to shoot down on the white flowers in a blackened burned section, no luck.

This got fairly hot to be so close to the road. I shoot with the burn crew, and see this more often deeper in the woods.

There are some beautiful examples of nature in this thread!

Our Thursday Hiking Group went "back to nature" yesterday, hiking about 5 miles on the Appalachian Trail along Sawtooth Ridge in Roanoke County. Here we are near the end of the hike as we approach the road where I had left a car. Dragon's Tooth is the highest point in the background.
