It was a bit cold and wet on the River this weekend:

  2. Crews varied in how confident they were that their exertions would keep them warm; some were sure:

  3. Others less so:

Al - those photos make me start shivering thinking about hypothermia!

We had about 3" of gentle snow overnight and I went over to Mt. Garfield as the skies were clearing for these two snaps. We hiked to the top last Spring, but it wouldn't have been a good idea to do so today!

Nice snow coating, looks like a fun hike in better weather.

Still waiting for the long-promised cold and snow :joyful: So, here's a rather mundane set of snaps:

1. Kindling waiting to be sacrificed.

2. "The jackets are hung in the mudroom with care, in hopes that the cold weather soon will be here!"

3. Always a welcome accessory! (Bonus points for a correct guess of Make and model)

Nice set - heated seats are something I chuckled at until I got a bit older and wiser. :bag:

Two from the garden, early this (frosty) morning:

After a few teaser days with the temps in the 40s-50s, it has returned back to colder temps:

I only had to drive about 90 minutes to get a reminder from Mt Rainier that Christmas was coming ...

... and on the way home, I stopped at the lodge in Longmire to warm up a bit ...

Yeah... I really don't miss the cold anymore. :) Paul - how do you like the Nest?
It is fabulous! It learns and can be programmed for each day, shows the temps and forecast, and has a home/away setting, so you can set it to away, go somewhere for an all day trip for example, and before leaving for home, set it back to home and it will ramp the temp back up. It is on the wi-fi network and can be controlled remotely via an app on your phone. Very cool device.
