Bit of late sun over our little corner of Lakeland. This is the first time I've used the "vivid" setting in picture controls. Shocking, I know. Not sure I like it, to be honest. But the 50mm still does well, to my eye.

Nice one Ron. I like the colors--the details in the mid-ground certainly pop!

Went out this evening for probably the last time this year to a new location overlooking the LeMay Museum, I5 and downtown Tacoma. Here's the 50's perspective ...

There will be some other perspectives in Landscapes!!

Cheers and Happy New Year all!!

Nice! One museum I hope to visit one day.

Don't have a fifty, but wanted to join in for the New Year.
Fortunately, through the miracle of the internet and 2D printing
was able to download a genuine Nikon 50/50 lens.

So here is a shot of it on my camera:

Mod may delete this post if it is not in the spirit of the CS
Either way:
May the New Year bring good times with good friends!
Too funny! :D

A lot of nice snowy pictures here ;)

Yesterday with the D5600 with the good old 35mm DX, thought I'd add some sun and blue sky for those who haven't seen that in a while. Of course it's cold (for Phoenix, anyway) and rainy here today.......

Wonderful shot - we're further south and east, and have snow again today. o_O

Every New Year's Eve, my wife has a "junk food" dinner. Usually, Chinese food, snacky type appetizers, etc. This year, it was a bit more healthy...

Just a quick shot of the centerpiece on the table (not quite as sharply focused as desired - I was using the LCD display to shoot - something I don't do much) ...

Tasty-looking New Years eatin's. :hungry:

Just a throwaway snap as I was sitting at a window watching the feeding frenzy at our feeders in today's 5" snowfall. House Finches, Dark-eyed Juncos (Oregon race), Lesser Goldfinches, Pine Siskins, Mourning Doves, etc. were all piled up in our little chokecherry tree. Normally, I'd have used a different focal length but mostly I was thinking about our departed Café colleague Bob Coutant, and how he would have known all the names of the genus & species, and etc. etc. etc. I miss him.

IMHO not a throwaway. It was a shock to read of Bob's passing. I'll miss him as well.

Many years ago my son started a tradition of sending flowers to his grandmothers, aunts and his mother for Christmas. This year we are down to just one aunt and my wife but the flowers keep coming:

Thoughtful son, nicely captured.

Well, snow melted yesterday. So what do we get overnight? More snow. o_O
K-1, 28-105 @50mm-ish for both snapshots.

Scooby, in a penalty time-out after he forced his way between me and the door as I was sweeping snow away from the entry. Luckily, another neighbor with a puppy who likes Scooby was walking and able to keep him occupied long enough for me to slowly walk down the icy stairs and get his leash on him. :banghead:

Gordon, some things never change.....I remember snow storms at Fort Huachuca back in the early 60s.

A late arrival. Nothing but rain here, so wet lichen it is.
