The neighbor's invited us over for fireworks. I brought my D750, and tripod to take some shots, but had the 50mm lens on, which was a bit too narrow. We also were directly underneath, so there was a lot of "fallout" after each display. It's been a while since I shot pictures of fireworks, and not something I do very often...

Our local parade is always a highlight of our day. We were sitting under the shade of some trees and the parade participants were backlit. It was a challenging situation to shoot.

Indeed... one of those... "I wish I had brought my flash" shots, of which one never thinks of doing in broad daylight. You handled it well though, Terri.

As you can see it wasn't even dark when a neighbor over a few streets started popping'
off some "works." I wasn't prepared to shoot fireworks but fortunately the camera did
a pretty fair job on its own. Took me about half an hour to find "Leo" as he was hiding
in a space between the dishwasher and cabinets I didn't even know about.
Excellent, Ed!

No fireworks. Nothing on the grill. No TV or internet. Just being able to get out to access the wonderful public lands above 12,000' in the San Juan mountains made for a memorable Independence Day celebration for us. We are indeed fortunate because of so many who came before us . . .
