Minimalist I get, but post retirement? That implies life after retirement. Retirement IS life! :D
He means post retirement as in reretirement. Or deretirement. Workin' again... different topics ;)
For me, retirement is the moment of separation. When I've been there long enough they said, "OK, get out. Here's a pen and pencil set."

In reality I was happy to be done as I'd planned my retirement for years. Everything happened right on schedule, I maxed the pension, social security and medicare for me. Then I got married and moved into a MUCH nicer neighborhood, and sold my house. Plus I'm still friends with everyone from the college, AND rejoined the Nikon Cafe! As retirements go, it's pretty sweet.
