RV Parkscape. View attachment 1670769Gros Ventres Campground. This place is usually easy to get into. But with Covid, so many more people are camping for vacations. It was filled early in the day everyday we were there.
I had to look it up, Menbrial. This is what I read. "Some say Gros Ventre, meaning "big belly" in French, refers to Indians who were reportedly found in the area with extended bellies. Others say that it comes from the long round belly of Sleeping Indian Mountain east of Jackson Hole that resembles an Indian Chief in full warbonnet, lying on his back visible from the Jackson Hole valley."
I actually took a photo of the Sleeping Indian Mountain that is appropriate for this CS. I can see how the name Big Belly would fit.
