Love these!! Especially the cityscape. That yard ornament is fun!!

We had a strong storm last night that took down a lot of foliage. I'm sure this area no longer looks like this photo(or the earlier photos). Many thanks to members commenting on my earlier posts (Jim, Paul, Nick, Bill, Eric, Ron and Klaus). I appreciate your comments although I am often lax in responding.

That's a super pic Jim. Colours, vista - everything. Is that what we call "Golden Rod" growing wild, plus Michaelmas Daisies?

Thanks, Ron. You're correct on the goldenrod, but the purple blossoms are asters.

Jim, that is a as bucolic a scene as there ever was! Worth being framed, shared or otherwise celebrated!

That's a really nice pic of what looks like an amazing area to visit Terri. Would you know why it's called "Blacktail Ponds"?

I don't know why. Perhaps had something to do with beavers living there and having black tails.

I'm pretty sure they were so named for all the Mule Deer (also known as Black-Tailed Deer) that historically used the area. But was wrong about the origin of the name Gros Ventre, earlier!

Mine was a wild guess, as well (I'm good at that!). Beaver ponds makes so much more sense! Thought there is Black-Tail Butte, nearby. I thought Gros Ventre was named for the fat salmon!

Thanks, Nick and Terri. This spot is down in a valley between two mountains, so sunrise, which would be behind where I stood, is late and sunset would be early. I think sunrise would work better.
