CS #767 - Septemberfest

AHA!!!! This little acorn sure looks like the thing I shot that was still on a tree, thinking it was some kind of fruit..... Thank you! My image is back a page.....post #137. I thought acorns were brown and hard-shelled?

Your's is not an acorn—those leaves are not Oak leaves. Hopefully someone smarter than me will chime in.

Thanks! The colors look so similar that when I saw Jim's, I wondered..... I have no idea of what the heck the thing was on the tree (or what kind of tree it was) because unfortunately the gardens folks didn't bother to identify it. I think it is is some kind of fruit, though, as it was next to another tree which had something which definitely looked more like fruit. Each tree only had a sign cautioning people not to pick anything off the trees, rather than what would have been helpful, actual identification of what we are seeing!

The recent clearing of the lot next door eliminated an owl's nest and a hawk's, but now there are numerous wading birds. I continue to be surprised by how many relatively immature animals there are in South Florida's September. Up north, late development would really reduce an animal's chances of making it through the winter.

Took the grand dog up to the fabulous dog park in Park City, UT, complete with its dedicated, dogs-only pond and exercise track. This is Stanley, AKA the creature from the blue lagoon.

Wonderful set! It's always fun to catch them shaking off. Their whole body twists. You did a great job capturing the action.
