D.O.F. at F2.8

    I was surprised to see how shallow the depth of field is at F2.8. I knew that it wouldn't be much, but I thought that it would extend at least 1" toward the camera.

    I was taking pictures with my D300 and Tamron 28-70 F2.8 of my FM2n. Compare the lettering of 'Nikon' and 'FM2' between the two pictures.

    I have SO MUCH to learn. Fortunately, I enjoy learning. :smile:

    It's all relative to the distance from shooter to subject also. I.e. step back, use same focal length and f/stop then crop to frame it the same as above and you got more depth :)
