I don't know what to make of this.

When I open the pic in Preview (Mac iBook G4), the red is definately oversaturated. However, when I loaded into Flickr, the red looked better, albeit, maybe even a bit dull.

On y'all's monitor, does the red appear blown?

Perhaps the lesson is to stop taking pictures of Lego blocks!

Seriously, I would like to understand what's happening and how to overcome it. The day may come when a some youth sports team has red jerseys.

    Thanks for reading!

Well, don't bother responding to my inane post.

Me thinks I'll use my Spyder2Express that I bought a couple weeks ago and profile my monitor.

Could it be color space issue?

    Hey, thanks, Peter.

I just enabled color profiling for Firefox 3 and now the picture in Firefox more closely matches what I see in Mac Preview.

Next step, I believe, is to run Spyder2Express.

    Thanks for responding.

  5. Dennis -

On my calibrated LCD monitor, the red looks just right....that is, it is bright, not blown, and has the slightly orangish-red cast that I associate with the D1 series.

  6. Dennis - Just saw your comments about profiling. Do it...and once you do, you won't be able to watch pictures on anything else.
