A close friend of mine recently purchased a used D1h. We both went out shooting and I noticed he was changing batteries about every 50-70 frames.(about every hour or less) I kept my batt in for about 200 shots(3hrs)
When I questioned him about changing so often he said he was told he could only get about that range with each battery. I tried to tell him what I was getting with my H, but he stood fast by what the seller told him. To make a long story short, I used his camera with his battery, and he was right. I used his battery in mine, and I was right. I then used my batt in his and he was right again. What gives? Is there a prob between cams.(our ser #'s are less than 30k apart)

It could just be that the batteries are old.

Put the battery to 3 or 4 continuous refresh cycles on the battery charger and it should get rid of most of the memory effects that its suffering from and work much better.

I've done that to batteries as old as 5 years and I can easily get 200 shots out of them minimum.
