  2. The above 100% crops represent 15% or ~1/6th of the original size!!!

To my (young) eyes these look like 30%-40% resized images from a 6MPs camera.

The quality is significantly improved although taken from a pre-production camera!!!

    Nice!

  4. Goodness, on the dpreview canon forums, these 20D users are debating the switch to the D200. I hope they don't, I'm annoyed by people who worry about specs and rarely shoot. Unless you really hit the boundaries of your equipment, all these modern digital cameras far exceed most users!

  5. Amen. And it's about time people realize it.

Of course, it's been true since the D100/10D intros!

  6. I know! I've been shooting for 25 years and NEVER in my wildest dreams did I ever think I could produce images with the quality that I get from my D2X without going to a 5x7 camera.

These people who go on and on about numbers at this point in the game are missing the entire point... Just buy the damned thing already and take pictures. The race is over as far as I'm concerned, and we're all the winners.

I hope ppl will prepare themselves to deal with these much larger files (vs D70/100), coming from the D200. Gonna need some strong puterin power!

Edit: btw, thaks Pano, these are excellent examples, unlike the crappy one that began showing up just prior to the D2X's release!
