My D200 kind of "died" on me twice yesterday, with a Err msg showing on its display. Tried pressing the shutter, not working. Took out the lens and saw the mirror was halfway stuck with sensor partially exposed.

Finally, I tried using mirror locked up and it went back to normal. Happened one more time, and went back to normal again. This particular issue rather concerns me, so I am checking to see if anyone else had the same problem before. Can it be a problem from using aftermarket batteries that have slightly lower charge? Thanks in advance. :Teeth:

  2. I don't think the batteries should be the issue - Nikon cameras has a shutter lock feature that WILL NOT fire the shutter or raise the mirror when the charge is low regardless of how hard you try to press that shutter button.
