    hi chris-

it's the 18-200mm VR, probably the kit lens for the d200.

the remote flash commander and the tiny remote flash units are interesting, looks like the CLS system is expanding.

is it christmas yet...ugh, the wait

  7. Both the Greek and Cypriot importers claim they know nothing, but expect to find out after November 2nd !!! What is on November 2nd... ???

However, they both speculated it will be around €2,500 (~ $3,000) but clearly said "don't quote us on it..."

The important thing though is the change on Waiting List Policy and they now accept people (especially Sweden)...

So, I guess we should wait until November 3rd...

  8. Oh my gawd, I just soiled myself!

Details? Is that polycarbonate or metal for the frame? Please be metal, I'm soo sick of cheap plastic. My D2H cameras get abused big time, but survive due to the metal frame. I seriously hope it's metal. Plus metal keeps cooler than plastic and instead of cracking, metal will either chip or dent on impact.

I am gonna be first on the list for this bad boy, I'm super excited!

Update: After looking at the pics closely, it appears to be a metal subframe, but I wish they didn't include the pop-up flash and just offer a bright viewfinder, darn it! The pop-up flash is sooo stupid, what a freaking waste. And while the 18-200 seems like a nifty lens, I'd rather put my money on a 17-55 f/2.8 . VR is such a gimmick on short lenses.

That wireless flash commander is soooo mine as well! Goodbye SC-29 crappy cord, haha! Dude, they better have a grip option, if they go the D70 route I will so drop kick Nikon in the groin!

I guess I'm going to blow a wad of cash this November, by the way it's my birthday on the 1st, so this will be my self-appointed present!

The news spread fast didn't it.

Just came over here to see if anyone had seen the pictures and it seems you all already know what is going on.

Will have to be a little quicker next time

    Take care,

    Fid.

NOw, where are the specs? The site seems to have vanished, I get a blank screen. Panos, I "really" need to know what it wil cost. Is the price you "quoted" body only?
    Regards

Hey guys, I very exhaustively poured through all the messages on DPR, and wanted to ask, what's that little Pacman icon next to that lever on the back for?

  12. The price estimation is for camera body only...

I was hoping for a closer to €2,000 price, though... :frown:

    Hi Steve,

I think the pacman icon is showing that the new CF card switch is in the open position. I don't know, but would guess that.

    Take care,

    Fid.

Sorry, perhaps lever would have been a better word.

If you look at the pictures you see that the door behind which the CF card normally goes doesn't have a button to open it. I would guess that the lever just below the pacman picture is for opening this door to put your CF card into... That is assuming that the D200 takes a CF card

Right. ok, then it's not like the D70, which I have, that has a cutout to open the CF door, nor does it have a flap like my D2X has that opens to reveal the button which opens the CF door. I get it now, thanks! Is that how the D100 also works? I never had that one.

  18. Fid, it is definitely a handle that opens the CF door, and the D200 definitely takes CF, just check the led indicator that says CF right next to the CF door...

  19. No Steve, D100 has the same open-door-procedure with the D70.
